Feeling stressed? Rushed?
This video gives a guide through this simple but timeless exercise that has been in use in the School for decades. It’s like a short meditation or mindful practice, focusing on awareness. It touches on each of the senses, allowing us to connect with the present moment, and rest for a short while – it’s a great tool for daily life.
The Awareness Exercise is introduced in the first class of the School’s philosophy course as a direct way of finding more stillness, depth and enjoyment in life.
This also adds an experiential dimension to the study of philosophy.
The Awareness Exercise is offered as a daily practice.
Students in classes share their experience together, and encourage each other’s practice.
